Arras Design	Mexican Coin Design 1936-69	Mexican Coin Design, 1970+

Although a similar "side view of eagle" design was used on some Mexican coins in the 1800's, it had significant differences. The center design was first used on the 5-centavo coin of 1936, and was used on many other Mexican coins up to 1970, when it was replaced by a similar "line" design (left).
