Cabela's Tokens

Cabela's is a hunting/outdoor gear superstore started in 1961. I started seeing tokens from them in 2002 but wasn't sure if these were some kind of amusement token, or just an advertising item. In Jan. 2012 I visited the Cabela's in Post Falls, ID and found they were using the tokens in a shooting gallery. The tokens I've seen all have the same design on one side (which I'm calling the obverse) with various designs on the reverse. All that I've seen have the city/state listed on the reverse. I have only see a few of these tokens so far, but there is the potential for a lot of different types, so I decided to start a web list of them. There are a lot of these on eBay, as well as a bunch of Cabela's elongated cents, which can be made at many of their locations.. Cabela's was selling the tokens for 4/$1 or 6/$1, not sure if that price is still valid.

There are two varieties of the standard obverse. On some the whole banner is raised, with incuse letters, and on the other the banner is only outlined, and the letting is raised. The incuse variety seems to have been made first, the the raised varieties showing up by 2013. I don't know if the raised design has replaced the incuse design of if both are now being made.

List of Cabela's token. Stores in a number of other locations exist, but do not seem to have issued tokens. I don't know why some locations have issued tokens and others have not. All known tokens are 25mm in diameter and made of a yellow brass alloy. If you know of any in other sizes or metals, please let me know!
