Chas writes: discovered one of these coins with a 1965 date. It is a 5 cent with two small flowers above the 5. The reverse has a woman's head with Juliana Koningin Der Nilerlanden circling it
Jan-Willem writes: I did some investigation concerning the Juliana token and is a remembrance coin for the goverment jubilee of our former queen of Holland.
Henke writes: This is a phantasy 5 cents piece. There are a lot of varieties with heads of the (former) queens, princesses, princes. You see them a lot.
There are apparently several varieties of these which were struck privately using the reverse design of the Netherlands 5c piece of 1940. Similar round tokens using the reverse of the 1907-09 Netherlands 5c piece are also known. Does anyone know more about the history and purpose of these items?
