Watermill Express
25mm, WM
About this token:
- Mike writes: Given out during openings of a new WaterMill kiosk. Numberous
kiosks now being opened in Bakersfield, McFarland, Riverside, Monterey Park.
All over Southern California. A promotional item and plentiful so no value
other than 1 free gallon of water. Cheaply made, they tend to corrode fast
so scarce in mint condition.
- Eric writes: There have been about 5 different types of Watermill Express
Tokens over the years. The most recent is a brass looking token. The tokens
most recently have been minted through the Hoffman mint in California. The
token has been minted with a copper plating, a silver (appearance) plating
and most recently with no appearance enhancements. There have been two different
Watermill Designs on the tokens thorugh the years, that I am aware of. The
tokens are used generally at promotions of Watermill Express stations, and
as refunds for the occasional machine malfunction. There are stations located
in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma,
Ohio and Flordia.
- PeakBreck writes: The tokens are used by a company in Brighton, Colorado
to sell and promote its water products. They are in more states than Texas
(such as California, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada).
- These are drive-up, serve-yourself drinking water kiosks that have popped
up in various grocery store parking lots around Houston (I haven't seen them
anywhere else). You pull up with your empty water jug, deposit a token or
correct change and fill that sucker up, or so I would guess as I've never
used one.
- Tom writes: There also are varieties in brass and copper-plated brass, as
well as one with a different windmill.
