Arnold reports: This is part of a set of British plastic play money manufactured during the early 1970's. The set comprises: Ł1,(pound), 50 new pence, 20 pence 10 new pence, 5 new pence, 2 new pence, 1 new penny, 1/2 new penny
These coins have been attributed to a Company called James Galt, Cheshire, UK but have recently been sold by a company called Arnold who supply teaching aids to schools. The question of manufacture has yet to be resolved. The series is often referred to as the "Two Logos" issue owing to the curious design at each side of the numeral.
