Jack & Charlies
32mm, brass
About this token:
- Tom writes: A New York City nightclub, presumably. I have a piece identical
to yours in my collection as well as a white metal spinner (same diameter)
that has "All Right You Pay" on an arrow across the (pig's?) hind end. The
little indentation to form the spinner nob on the other side is located right
under the tail, leaving one with the impression that whoever would get stuck
with buying the next round is the a--hole of the moment.
- "Tokens and Medals" by Alpert and Elman shows a similar item on
p. 61. That one has the same "gate" on the obverse, but also says
"New York", the reverse has an arrow and "21". Similar
tokens are valued at $1-$3 (in 1992)
