Jack writes: This Token was a promotion to make money for the Folk Festival held annually in Red Deer. The Token's Comosition is : copper, nickel, and nickel-silver. There were 3,000 Red Deer tokens struck in 1970. The (1970) Red Deer token is on the market for $30.00.
This token is listed in Serge Pelletier's book "Standand Catalog of Canadian Municipal Trade Tokens & Notes" as AL33, with a value of $30.00.
Borru writes: Token pretty well says it all, place is Red Deer, Alberta, Canada....they hold a folk festival, singing, crafts, you know regulare type stuff, token is to promote the event.
